Wonderful relaxing weekend in a beautiful location

Have recently enjoyed a wonderful long weekend here. Le Moulin Verneau is set in a beautiful location with very comfortable accommodation and excellent facilities. Julie, Simon and Carol (and their dogs) could not have made us feel more welcome. There was plenty to see and do in the local area and when we returned to our gite, we thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. Would particularly recommend the beautiful fresh pastries from the local village bakery for breakfast and the delicious selection of cheeses purchased when we visited the market in Langeais on the Sunday morning. Our only complaint was that we had to leave. We will definitely be back

Fabulous place to stay

What an awesome place to stay! Fantastic accommodation, beautifully decorated- super comfortable. Gorgeous hot tub and swimming pool, lovely walks and plenty of rest and relaxation. Julie, Simon and Carol are wonderful hosts and I would highly recommend a visit. Lovely markets in nearby towns and villages and a must is a meal near the château and a kayak along the river! Local supermarket a short drive away so you can stock up on food and drinks. Fabulous! We will be back

French Escape with tranquility

We were looking for an escape from our busy lives and wanted a week in France where we could have a balance between sightseeing and downtime.

Le Moulin Verneau was perfect - away from the rest of the world, but close enough to cycle to the village to collect the fresh pastries in the morning :-)

We were the only ones by the pool which was great & use of the hot tub too.

Julie was the perfect host, there when we needed her, otherwise very 'laissez faire' - which we enjoyed.

Five days away and we came back feeling like we had been away for two weeks!

Thank you Julie (and Carol) we will definitely be coming back!

The Perfect Stay

My partner and I stayed at Le Moulin Verneau in early May. It was the perfect getaway for a relaxing weekend break. Julie was attentive and gave us some great advice on local amenities. Thank you for a lovely stay

Our stay with Julie, Simon and Carol exceeded our expectations, the property has a villa vibe in an amazing surrounding and benefits from having a heated pool. Their two dogs are well behaved and were very accommodating to our curious Frenchie! Everything is well thought out and lacks nothing to enjoy a short or long term stay, was great to have fast internet and English channels! We definitely would recommend and would likely visit again.

Very charming cottage in the middle of the fields which benefits from access to a huge and very well furnished pool with pool beds, canopies, tables, etc. The cottage is very cute and very pleasant, impeccably clean. We had a great weekend

Very peaceful stay in the beautiful Loire valley.

So relieved to eventually get to Le Moulin Verneau. A trip that was postponed twice due to Covid. Having been in regular contact with Julie, it felt like at long last catching up with old friends. The welcome reception is quite something with the adorable Martha & Pip (furry friends) then Julie, Simon & Carol.
We stayed in the smaller gite Le Deux Chevaux, perfect for us as a couple. Julie’s attention to detail with quirky decor was very appealing. I like to cook and the kitchen living space was well equipped with all you’d need.
My husband and I like to cycle and there is no shortage of scenic routes to choose from. The area is so quiet that even cycling along major roads was surprisingly deserted. Perfect.
Imagine then returning to the lovely swimming pool on offer with comfy loungers ample shade if needed and a fridge to cool the beer.
Julie was very knowledgeable on market days and places she thought we might enjoy visiting. We had some lovely plat du jour’s accompanied by gorgeous French wines, all produced locally. Needless to say I had to bring a few bottles home
